Ursuya is of modest altitude but standing apart from the rest of the Basque hills it is a great belvedere for the mountains all the way from the coast to the high Pyrenees.

ACCESS

From the village of Mendionde, drive up past the church and continue for 1km and park at a col.

Take the track NW, you are walking on the ‘Route Napoleon’ built to move troops quickly from the coast inland. Follow the yellow marks. After 10’ go straight over at a crossroads, soon after the track turns right and you a join a road with a cattle grid.
